Sport at our school is more than just a game — it's about character, personal growth, and community. The Titans Trust, a passionate group of Old Boys and parents, work behind the scenes to make this a reality for every student.

Their purpose is simple: To support experiences that help our athletes grow and succeed. Their vision is to guarantee a quality sporting experience for every student, no matter their involvement level.

HERE'S HOW THEY MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  • Supporting Our People: They recognise the hard work of our TBC staff, celebrate our national representatives, and offer crucial financial support, so all our boys can participate and thrive.
  • Enhancing Our Programmes: With their funding, we're able to offer a top-tier Athlete Development programme, complete with experts in strength and conditioning, mental skills, and nutrition. They also make travelling to events more accessible for all families by covering 50% of travel costs.
  • Investing in Our Future: The Trust helps fund upgrades to our facilities and supports our sports leadership model, ensuring our major codes have the resources they need to succeed.

TRUST MEMBERS
Wayne Brill, ChairpersonSubtitle

Wayne Brill is Senior Dealer Markets for BNZ and holds multiple management positions with various sports teams, including the Bay of Plenty Steamers and the Bay of Plenty Cricket Team. He attended Tauranga Boys’ College in the early 1980s, where he was joined by two of his brothers, and subsequently, his two sons also attended the same institution. For the past seven years, Wayne has served as the Chairperson of the Titans Sport Council Trust.

Matthew JohansonSubtitle

Matthew Johanson is an Investment Adviser at Craigs Investment Partners, a role he has occupied since his return to Tauranga in 2006. A proud old boy of Tauranga Boys' College, he was actively involved in various sports during his school years, with a particular interest in Cricket where he represented the 1st. He is a married to Anne and they have a daughter and two sons who are currently enrolled at Tauranga Boys' College.

Matthew LagerbergSubtitle

Matthew Lagerberg is the Managing Director of Classic Group. He was raised in Tauranga and studied at TBC from 1988 to 1992. During his time there, he played for the school's Soccer 1st XI and Rugby 1st and 2nd XV teams. He is married to Michelle, and they have two children, one of whom attended Tauranga Boys’ College.

Raman ForbesSubtitle

Raman Forbes is the Director of an Engineering Consultancy based in Mount Maunganui. He and his wife are originally from Auckland and moved to Tauranga over 22 years ago. They have raised four children, three of which have attended Tauranga Boys’ College.

Alex HadenSubtitle

Alex Haden is the managing director of Preston Rowe Paterson (PRP), a property valuation and consultancy business based here in Tauranga.  Alex attended Tauranga Boys’ College and currently lives in Tauranga with his wife Claire and three children.


Hamish McKinlaySubtitle

Hamish grew up in Wellington, where he attended Wellington Boys College and Victoria University. He has also spent time living in London and Auckland before relocating to Tauranga seven years ago. Hamish and his wife are parents to four children, one is currently at Tauranga Boys’ College. The family shares a strong passion for sports.
