ENROLMENT                    Subtitle

Tauranga Boys’ College has an Enrolment Scheme in place, and selection for entry to the school is based on the Ministry of Education enrolment regulations. It enrols students according to the provisions of Section 11D of the Education Act 1989 and the Education Amendment Act (No 3).

All In-Zone Enrolments and Out-of-Zone Enrolment Applications must be completed online, with all required documentation.  

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

  • A copy of the student's birth certificate or passport (and Visa document if applicable)
  • The student's most recent school report with English and Maths grades included (or relevant screenshots of English and Maths grades)
  • The student's NZQA record of learning/results (for students enrolling in Yr 11, 12 or 13)

IN-ZONE ENROLMENT ADDITIONAL DOCUMENT REQUIRED

  • Proof of permanent residence within our zone*

* This proof of residence document needs to be a current long-term tenancy agreement, a sale and purchase agreement, or a recent household power, rates or phone account. The document needs to clearly show the parent/caregiver's full name and their residential address.

​NB: Out-of Zone Applications must be received within the specified timeframe.

OUT-OF-ZONE ENROLMENT APPLICATIONS

There are limited places for out-of-zone students. Schools must accept out-of-zone enrolments in an order defined by the Education and Training Act 2020, using a ballot, if necessary. Students who are unsuccessful are put on a waiting list in the order they were drawn in the ballot. They may be offered a place if it becomes available later in the year. The waiting list remains until the school holds its next ballot.

Out-of Zone Applications must be received within the specified timeframes during Term 3, for the following school year. 

*Please note - if you applied Out-of-Zone previously and were unsuccessful (placed on the waitlist), you would need to submit a new Out-of-Zone Enrolment Application if you wish to apply again.
