SCHOOL BUS RULES

School rules around behaviour also apply while travelling on the bus, to and from school. Any poor behaviour may result in removal from the bus for a period of time, a term, or permanently.

  • Students waiting for buses must wait inside the school grounds. Any student leaving the school grounds (to go to Countdown or shops etc) will be deemed to have left school for the day and will be unable to travel on the bus.
  • Students must remain on the bus all the way to school. They do not get off at other stops such as ‘Girls’ College or Tauranga Intermediate.
  • Once students have arrived at school by bus, they must stay inside the school grounds.
  • Respect for the driver and others is required at all times.

RURAL SCHOOL BUS:

To be eligible for a ride on any Rural School Bus, our students need:

  • to be living beyond the limits of the Regional Council’s School Bus Service
  • to be registered through the EasyBus website
  • have their journey plan completed online
  • and must have a bus pass ordered

"Secondary students qualify for a free pass if they live more than 4.8 km from the closest school they could enrol at and more than 2.4 km from public transport; students travelling past their nearest school pay a fare".   Western routes from Wairoa/Te Puna through to Omokoroa have a bus fee to access the rural bus service because we are not the closest school MOE do not fund this transport zone.

Every student who travels on a rural school bus in the Tauranga network needs a bus pass. CLICK HERE to get one - it takes three steps, and you can do everything online.
