Tauranga Boys' College

CLAY TARGET

COMPETITIONS

  • Regional Shoots
  • North Island Champs
  • South Island Champs
  • Nationals Championship

Our competitions are once a month on a Thursday during school hours, at times we do have to travel as far as Auckland, Thames, Hamilton, and Taupo, so we have to allow travelling time.

TRAINING

Our teams are a combination of juniors and seniors based on shooting skills. We practice every Wednesday straight after school at TECT Park. Practice starts at 4:00pm and finishes about 5:30-6:00pm, we are back at school care park around 6:30pm. Most times we take a school van, but when that is not available, parents jump in to help transport.

UNIFORM

Students wear their number ones to and from the competition, and we provide shooting tops during the competition.

Shooting vests are hired from the club for the year at the price of $100, from which you get back $50 as a bond refund when the vest is returned.

FEE STRUCTURE

Club registration fee of $35 (annual)
New Zealand Clay Target Association (NZCTA) fee of $35
Entry fee of $35 per competition
Gun hire fee of $100* (annual). You use the hired gun for all your practice and take it to the competition. Gun hire will not apply if you own your gun.

The cost of school van use is shared among the students travelling in it. The more boys we have in the van the cheaper it is for each student.  You also need to allow purchase of Ammo, Clay and transportation.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Information regarding musters, Google sign-ups, trials, and training schedules will be shared during school assembly and included in the daily information sheet. For further enquiries, please contact the teacher-in-charge.
